La idea central de la estrategia se basa en arrebatarle a las células cancerosas su don de la inmortalidad, ya que poseen un constante alargamiento de los telómeros y de esta manera, garantizar estabilidad genética y mayor duración de las células sanas y se controlarían las células cancerosas.
